Jen de Ness - “SEE THINGS LIKE YOU” Album Launch
Perth based Jazz Singer, Songwriter & Cabaret performer Jen de Ness celebrates the release of her original "See things Like You" CD.
Jen de Ness returns to the Ellington with fellow composer Bill Atkinson, to present another entertaining night of original jazz cabaret of sweet bossa nova, zesty tango, sultry Latin, soulful blues, beautiful ballads, and smooth jazz and swing tunes. A fantastic line up of classical, jazz and contemporary musicians bring these songs to life alongside the wonderful Adelaide based Jazz pianist and MD, Bruce Hancock.
The diverse mix of the de Ness/Atkinson compositions and Jen’s originals are arranged for different combinations from SOLO TO to SEPTET. Slick guitar led tunes are supported by the dynamic violin and cello lines of Ashley Arbuckle and played in sextet/septet to include vocals, double bass, percussion and piano. The second group of songs contains mostly Jen’s originals alongside a few jazz favorites, with the piano trio led by Bruce Hancock with support from guitar, saxophone, and percussion. Add to this Jen’s smooth, soulful and velvety vocals, the uplifting de Ness/Atkinson harmonies and Jen’s ability to entertain and connect with her audience, and you have a show and CD filled with much love, joy, fun and a celebration of life through original music and storytelling.
This CD Launch begins a National/International tour of “See things like you” show and CD for Jen, who is joined by the Bruce Hancock Trio with Bruce as MD & pianist for the shows and support from slick Adelaide and Melbourne Jazz musicians.
